Philadelphia area singer/songwriter, Jim Stanson, is set to be the opening act for Ian McLagan and the Bump Band on Thursday, July 5, at the North Star Bar in Philadelphia. Stanson, an independent artist, just released his first full-length CD, “Heart Full of Fire”. The CD contains thirteen original songs with special guest appearances by Gurf Morlix (Lucinda Williams), “Scrappy” Jud Newcomb (Ian McLagan & the Bump Band), Jim Weider (The Band) and Kurt Johnston (Bon Jovi).

Headlining the show is the legendary Ian McLagan backed by the Bump Band. “Mac” is probably most noted for being the keyboard player in the Faces with bandmates Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood, Ronnie Lane and Kenny Jones. Before the Faces, he was a member of the English pop group The Small Faces. They became the Faces after lead singer and guitarist Steve Marriot left the band. He has also played as a side musician for the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Rod Stewart, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, Izzy Stradlin and many others. His latest release, “Spiritual Boy”, is an appreciation of his old band mate and friend, the late Ronnie Lane. “Spiritual Boy” has received glowing reviews from Rolling Stone, MOJO, No Depression, and Uncut magazines. “Mac” currently resides in Austin, Texas. He is promoting “Spritual Boy” on The Ju Ju Tour ’07.
